Baby girl had her vaccinations yesterday and took them like a champ. She was talking and smiling most of yesterday in between sleeping. She did develop a fever of 101 but was still not too fussy so I gave her some Tylenol and the fever went down. Saw it was up again today so I gave her a second dose. Overall, reactions I knew to expect.
My question is about the red raised lump by her injection shot. My pediatrician said it might develop a lump but I don’t remember if she said it would be red like this. Did this happen with any of you? I left a message for the dr but I thought I would ask while I wait. She isn’t very fussy, is eating normally but just sleeping a lot more and dealing with the fever.

Yep totally normal, my daughters looked like this too! I put diluted lavender oil on it and it went away in a day or two

My daughter once got this huge. Over. Golf size. Ball lump and dr wasent worried warm and cool compression even soaking in the tub will help.. It's from them tightening up when they get stuck with the needle... You can add lavander oil to it as it has a helaing component and anti inflammatory in it. You can add fractionated coconut oil first so it lasts longer and the oil won't cause any sensitive reaction.

That's very common. It's nothing to worry about unless it gets really big or stays irritated for an extended period of time.

Redness and swelling at the injection site is the most common side effect of any vaccine, you can use an ice pack on it if it seems to be causing pain.

Thanks all! I read conflicting things online and I knew there might be a lump but wasn’t sure about the redness! I appreciate all of the comments :)
